Three special machines help to round out teaching resources, an industrial straight stitch machine, an industrial serger, and a long-arm quilting machine. These are the kinds of machines in use in many of the settings that hire people to sew professionally. These gifts represent strong steps in helping to build vocational skills in the refugee community.
In addition to sewing we count computer skills training, job search tactics, and helps with home business start-ups in the OWWR repertoire. We have been privileged to help launch careers in nursing and medical language interpretation among others.
